Five days, working hard-
Or is it hardly working?
So tired… Must. Nap. Now.
Thank goodness it’s finally Friday! Either my work is boring, or this has been one exhausting week (or both!)
I understand why Lizzy was so tired- she ate cat food, stretched, napped, roamed the house, tormented Cybil (our black tabby cat) and played with a paperclip- but I have no idea why I’m exhausted 😛
I make a point of being mindful of my time and am careful not to wish my weeks away counting down time until the weekend, but I have to admit that I’ve been anticipating this weekend a little bit.
I’m taking the kids with me to visit my parents this weekend. They live just a few hours away, but we only see them once or twice a month. I’m looking forward to the visit. I always get more sleep there because my computer stays home!
What are you looking forward to this weekend?
Cats have such rough lives!
I know, right? Wouldn’t mind trying it out for a day or two, Suzicate!
Enjoy your weekend ~ glad you’re leaving your computer (and the lice) behind.
This weekend, I’m looking forward to:
1. A watercolor demo at Island Gallery West by my favorite island artist ~ Anne Abbgott. You can see one of her paintings here:

2. This year, I’ve donated 35+/- books to the Island Library Book Sale . . . tomorrow I get to go to the book sale to buy books to refill my shelves.
3. We’re having a mini-reunion here on Sunday with my only aunt and uncle (from VT), one cousin and his wife (also from New England), and my sister and her family.
Tigger is so excited that he’s taking an extra nap.
You had a full weekend planned, Nancy! I hope you enjoyed yourself… and that Tigger’s extra nap got him through the excitement of visitors 🙂
Enjoy your time with your family. I know what you mean about the impending weekend – I could have used it three days ago. I’m just going to get a gas cap so my car passes inspection and I’m getting geared up for the start of spring football practice (I swear you’d think I was a player!).
Thanks, Jennie! I hope your car passed emissions…such a pain when it doesn’t 😦 Have fun with football!
I’m jealous of your cat. I’m exhausted
I hope you were able to get some rest this weekend, Lance. I agree – our cats have lives I envy as well 🙂
I’m thinking it may be due to the 100 loads of laundry to have done plus making sure everything is cleaned plus keeping up with your writings and family and work, ok, now I’m getting tired. I do hope you are able to rest and relax this weekend. Just have the mindset of a cat. I know mine tends to watch stuff move out the window in between naps and that is about it. Plays with the dogs on occasion if he gets rambunctious but otherwise just sleeps, eats and does not much more. Thanks for the read.
That could have something to do with it, Sean! I did get some rest this weekend (sort of.) When I got home we worked for a few hours in the yard, so I’m sure I’ll feel it tomorrow. Cats do have it pretty good. Sigh…
My cats, In addition to napping and eating and eating and napping love to go in and out , out and in all day long. And one needs to take a pass around the woodstove each time before going out. He stands at the door, pawing the carpet in his impatience and then when I get up to let him out, he’ll slowly amble all around the wood and accompanying woodstove. Drives me batty, that batty cat, he does. Just Batty! LOL
It sounds like the cats have you trained pretty well, Clar! Our cats stay indoors, so at least we don’t have that craziness to handle. We did have one tear up the carpet when she accidentally ended up closed in a room.
We’ve had to lock our cats up in a basement room where there was heat during these subzero degree winter nights but they seemed to like it all cozy on the bed. They had litter box, food, and water right near by and we would let them upstairs when we woke in the morning. 🙂
At least they had a warm place to hang out. Ours are spoiled- we basically live in their house!
ha! ha!
Since I’m in Taiwan, my weekend is already half-over, but it’s much like most of my weekends. Trying to get ahead on the textbook project–ok, at this point it’s better to say catching up on the textbook project. And class plans for the week. Our exchange students from Japan are leaving this week, so I can anticipate a little fun with their final presentations and a farewell dinner this week. Looking forward to a weekend where I can plan a little fun and R&R. 🙂
You’re awfully busy too, Deborah! I hope you do get a weekend soon where you can relax without having to tend to other obligations. Thanks for stopping by and sharing your weekend plans 🙂
Thanks, Janna! Actually, I think I’m going to have to actively plan that kind of weekend. It will never happen in the near future without a strong assist. 😉
I get that, Deborah. It’s sad that we have to schedule down time!
Have a great weekend, Janna! I had a party last night and have only had two hours sleep – for some reason everyone thought it would be a good idea to come to my place in case the cyclone hit. Thank goodness it didn’t! So I think I’ll just sleep a lot this weekend 😉
Ooh, I’m glad you dodged the cyclone… that wouldn’t be fun at all. Hope you got enough sleep to make up for the 2-hour night, Dianne 🙂
Have an awesome weekend, Jannat. Cute cat:)
Thanks, Vishal! Lizzy usually finds mischief, but looks sweet when sleeping (kind of like children 🙂 )
I hope you had a nice visit back home! I LIVE for Fridays, and I’m *always* counting down to the weekend. And then I think time goes by too fast. Can’t win! 😉
I did have a nice weekend, Sandra. Unfortunately, I’m now behind on just about everything. Sheesh 🙂
Cats have an awful lot of responsibility, it’s a wonder they get any rest. Hope you had a great visit.
My kitties spend most of the day holding the furniture down. It’s a tough job, but someone has to do it 🙂
Hi Janna
As promised I’m working my way backwards to which Haikus I’ve missed. Who doesn’t work forwards to Friday, which is why l like your Haiku. My response to yours deals with the reality of what comes next.
TGIF
Looking for Friday
Two days rest we can enjoy.
Good grief it’s Monday.
Haha, Monday does seem to come too quickly. My aunt used to say she got the Sunday Night Blues before having to go to work on Monday (she’s retired now, so no doubt, her Sundays are better!) Glad you felt inspired to respond in haiku, Robin! (I’ll be by to see what you’ve been up to soon… I’m having some computer issues, among other things, but will catch up!)
THANKS Janna – The opposite of TGIF is GGIM
[Good Grief It’s Monday]
Oh yes, today sure did feel like a Monday, too. On the upside, Tuesday has to be better. It really does!
