Melt – Trifecta #107

Your gaze,

encapsulates thirty-three

years of history-

our love.

 Your laughter,

beautiful music,

powerful aphrodisiac,

caresses my ears.

 Your touch,

both fire and ice-

I have no choice,

but to melt.

Every time.

TrifectaPicture11-1This is my response to the Trifecta weekly writing prompt, which is to write a piece between 33 and 333 words (mine is 33) using the following word/definition:

MELT (transitive verb):  to make tender or gentle:  soften

The challenge is open to everyone, so if you’re inspired, please click on the tricycle image to visit Trifecta’s site to view the guidelines and submit your link.

Lovely….I didn’t sleep much, it’s raining for the umpteenth day in a row, and I’m mean cranky but this made me melt, a little.

    well crafted

    • jannatwrites December 9, 2013 / 11:06 AM

Haha…thanks, Lance! I hope you are able to find a bright spot amid all the rain! Living in the desert for so long, I adore rain, but then again, it never hangs around for more than two days in a row 🙂

There is so much to be felt in a lover’s gaze, laughter and touch… This is a sensual and delightful description of a long-term love affair – love it!

    • jannatwrites December 10, 2013 / 11:20 PM

Thanks, GodGirl! New love (lust?) gets most of the attention in writings, so I thought I’d turn my thoughts to the glow of a longer, deeper relationship.

  19. KymmInBarcelona December 12, 2013 / 2:13 PM

The cascading words are cool, too. And don’t think I didn’t see what you did there with the 33rd anniversary! Like the sensuality of it, topped off with that sassy “every time”.

    • jannatwrites December 12, 2013 / 9:29 PM

Thanks, Kymm! I pictured the words melting into the ‘every time’, but didn’t really know how to depict that! And you caught me…the 33 years was a shameless nod to Trifecta 🙂 I appreciate you reading it and sharing your thoughts on it!

  20. Bastet December 12, 2013 / 9:12 PM
