We ran, it would seem, after the farmer’s wife. But we’re blind. We thought we ran from her.
Speedy warned us she was crazy.
Our hankering for Swiss cheese cost us our tails.

This is my silly response to Trifecta’s weekend prompt: “We’re asking for 33 of your own words about a famous trio. The trio could be from literature, from history or from pop culture. Just make it yours and have fun with it.”
Too bad the three blind mice couldn’t see the the size of that knife blade…they might not have been so bold as to go for the wedge of cheese on the counter 🙂
Oh, and the Speedy reference is to Speedy Gonzales from the Looney Toons cartoons. I don’t know if Speedy and the three blind mice ever met, but I don’t claim historical accuracy here…I routinely make stuff up (read: lie) 😛 However, since this is all nursery rhymes and cartoons, I’m not sure accuracy really applies!

Happy reading – and have a beautiful weekend!
Reblogged this on db mcneill – Momsomniac and commented:
too funny! Many thanks to Janna T Writes for the laughter!
I loved this so much that I shared (with credit, of course). I hope that’s OK!
😛 I’m so glad you enjoyed my silliness enough to reblog, Momsomniac. I appreciate it. (TGIF!)
Loved it!
Thanks, Tessa! Glad you enjoyed this one 🙂
OH I love Speedy Gonzales! He was always one of my favorites. He had the best sombrero
This was creative and fun, picturing those mice running circles around that blade.
OUCH!!!
As always you bring the “good story” 🙂
Speedy was a funny fellow. I’m glad you stopped by to read it and enjoyed the story, Kir. This was an odd prompt!
“Silliness” like this starts my weekend off just right! I’d say you nailed the challenge AND gave us great imagery!
😛 I’m glad it got the weekend off the a good start, Debbie!
I always wondered about that. So glad you gave us the rest of the story. (and it was good for a giggle too.) Great job!
Happy to clear up question, Renee! Thanks for reading 🙂
Darn [crosses three blind mice off his list]! Good one Janna. I’ll just need to think of something else now!
You’re funny, Paul! I think it would be hard to write about a trio that no one else picked. Thanks for stopping by to read it 🙂
He he. Too much fun.
🙂 I appreciate you taking time to read it, Zennjennc!
You IS funny!
Or as Speedy might say, “Arriba Arriba”
Hahaha! You definitely get my humor 🙂 I think Speedy might say that the blind mice were loco en la cabeza.
Si si!!!
Hahaha! LOVED this!
Thanks so much for reading, Shreyapunj!
Good one! Thanks for the smile 🙂
I’m glad you liked this one, Susan. Thanks for reading 🙂
Now I have the song stuck in my head! Cute.
That happened to me, too. Sorry about that, Quickstepp 😛
No silly, at all! Loved it. 🙂
I’m glad you enjoyed this one, Pratibha…I appreciate you stopping by!
This isn’t silly, it’s uplifting. Better than to lose your tail in the stock market.
Hahaha! You’ve got a point there, Lumdog 😀
Super cute-couldn’t stop smiling Janna:-)
Yes! I’m glad you share my humor, Atreyee 🙂

Darn their love of cheese!! I love this very funny!
Cheese is big trouble for blind mice…and those who are lactose intolerant 🙂 Thanks so much for reading, Gynis!
Too cute.

Excellent choice–gave me the giggles!
I appreciate you reading, Tina!
Ha.. that was very funny… 🙂
Thanks, Bjorn!
cute and clever 33 words. I like mice outside my house not inside.
I agree with you about the mice OUTSIDE 🙂 Thanks for reading, Patty!
Love this! Clever and funny.
Thanks, Deb!
Those poor mice! Very clever.
Thanks for reading, Gene!
Smile to my face, thanks.
😛 Appreciate you reading, Allen!
GREAT subject for this Trifextra! Fun piece!
Thanks, Christine! I had fun with this one 🙂
Ariba! – Riba! – Riba!
“Tell me senor, why are the three mice walking funny.”
“Well, Speedy, that’s what happens when you fell in love with Swiss.”
“Oh, I see, they kill you with love.”
“Close.”
It’s not the cheese itself that’s harmful (unless they are lactose intolerant)- it’s the crazy lady with knife. Even blind mice like a challenge, it seems 🙂 Thanks for stopping by, Eric!
Amazingly clever! I love not only the subject, but the humorous way you adapted the saga. And I do think in the land of fable and fiction your characters did indeed cross paths.
Thanks, Joanne – I appreciate you reading it and am glad you enjoyed!
ANDLE ANDLE!!! AMIGO!!!
Ah, another Speedy fan! Welcome, Jasmine 🙂
SI
Big chuckles with this one! Gotta love that Speedy!
I remember liking him as a child, Phil. He’s not PC, so we don’t hear from him much anymore.
That brings back memories. 🙂 I still love Looney Tunes.
I do too, Patti!
Very funny. A great mingling of tales.
