If you’re keeping up on my short story, Kharma’s Way, part 7 is now up on Serial Central (the halfway mark). This week, Jaime (Kharma) reveals why she thinks Gill would’ve murdered Michelle.
If you are new to my blog and have no idea what this is about, you can click on the Serial Central link to go to a multi-author blog where we each tell our stories on a given day of the week (I’m Saturday). All parts are posted under the Kharma’s Way category, so it’s never too late to read it.
Since this is a short post to announce a new segment of Kharma’s Way, I figured there was just enough room for a short poem I wrote earlier today. Have a wonderful Saturday!
Beautiful Blessings
Teardrops on a friend’s shoulder,
Arms hugging the pain away,
Children’s steady breathing in slumber,
Waking up to another sunny day.
The ache of loss comforted by happiness,
Exuberant tail wags and a cat’s meow,
Red and orange leaves under bare branches,
First buds of Spring with dew on the ground.
These are things that bring a smile;
Things that make me feel alive.
Your poem is so moving, especially the cat’s meow being a blessing 🙂 I love cats. I love cat people 😉
Thanks, Maimoona! I’m happy that you enjoyed it. I love my furry friends (cats and dogs) 🙂
I’m too pressed for time to start in on Kharma at part 7. Maybe later this week.
Enjoyed the poem. Smiles lighten our mood and make our hearts sing.
I’m happy you liked the poem, Nancy. No worries about reading the story – if you decide you want to start it, all of the segments remain posted. There are going to be fourteen parts to it, so you still have plenty of time to catch up 🙂
That was a sweet thing to read first thing morning! 🙂

Thanks, BrownEyed.
Hey, look who got a new gravatar! I almost didn’t recognize you (I’m assuming the picture is you?) Great picture 🙂
I loved this poem! These things make me happy too, well except the children part, but only because I have no children. But I’m sure if I did that would be a source of happiness too. Thanks for sharing! 🙂
I’m glad you enjoyed it, Ollin! Hmmm…since the kids line doesn’t work for you, here’s an alternate line that might work better:
“Starry nights, with mystical wonder”
Or not…I don’t know 🙂
