Getting Started

Facebook? No.
My Space? Nope.
Twitter? I have no idea how this works. I don’t live in a cave, so I’ve heard about ‘tweets’, but have not ‘tweeted’ at any time because I don’t have anything of significance to tweet about. From what I’ve heard, most people don’t, so that shouldn’t stop me :)

So, why a blog? The main reason is that I’ve written a book and am now embarking on the arduous task of finding a literary agent.  To be clear, finding an agent isn’t really the problem; there are hundreds of them.  The challenge is finding a literary agent interested in my writing.  I’ve seen recommendations to be ‘reachable’.  Since I don’t have the technical skills to design a website, I figured I could stick my toe in the water with a blog. I’m a private person, so for me, this is like swimming in shark-infested waters with raw meat strapped to my body.  (Okay maybe this isn’t as deadly, but it is that scary to me). Deep breath. Exhale.  Now that I’m calm, I can think rationally: it would only be frightening if hundreds of people were reading this.  I can count on one hand the people who *might* be interested in my ramblings, so I’m okay.

Now that this is resolved, I can sleep well tonight.
